چکیده

We propose and evaluate a mechanism for resolving the segmentation of overlapping chromosomes using trainable models of the expected banding appearance. The models consist of templates of sub-chromosome length band pro"les. Candidate chromosome segments are classi"ed according to their responses to the entire set of templates, and matched on the basis of the classi"cations. Evaluation of the models using a set of annotated banding pro"les yields correct classi"cation rates of 90.8% for isolated chromosomes, and 55.4% for chromosome fragments; 70.6% of overlapping chromosome pairs, simulated using the pro"le data set, are correctly resolved. An Object Location Strategy using Shape and Grey-level Models

Any model-based image interpretation system must be capable of describing objects, whose appearance in real images can vary widely, in sufficient detail to ensure that robust location of objects is possible. The system must cope with circumstances where data is incomplete, for example when touching and occlusion occur. We argue that to achieve this it is necessary to describe grey-level propert...

A Trainable Hierarchical Hidden Markov Tree Model for color image segmentation and labeling

In this paper we consider how to annotate or label regions of grey-level or multispectral images based upon known labels and a set of interacting hierarchical doubly stochastic processes. The proposed model extends current work on the use of hidden Markov models for image processing using multiscale representations. In this paper we explore a new bijective up-down algorithm whereby the spatio-s...

In this paper we explore a new bijective up-down algorithm whereby the...

A Hybrid Method of DEA and MODM in Grey Environment

DEA Classic models cannot be used for inaccurate and indeterminate data, and it is supposed that the data for all inputs and outputs are accurate and determinate. However, in real life situations uncertainty is more common. This article attempts to get the common weights for Decision-Making Units by developing DEA multi-objective models in the grey environment. First, we compute the privilege o...

Development and Comparison of Methods Based on Grey and Fractal Models for Predicting Natural Gas Prices

Today there is consensus regarding the importance of predicting the price of energy carriers for economic development, including natural gas as a preferred energy source on environmental grounds. In this paper we analyze the nonlinear behavior of natural gas prices over time by use of the Grey Method (GM), Developed Grey Method (DGM), Fractal Discrete Grey Method (FDGM) and a compound Method II...
